Argentina based the design of the Cibel-2K missile on that of its Mathogo Missile.
The Cibel-2K missile uses SACLOS (Semi-Automatic Command to Line of Sight) guidance – a second generation missile guidance system. An infrared beam is used to guide the Cibel-2K. The operator must use an optical telescope to keep the target in his sight.
An operator can fire 12 Cibel-2K missiles remotely at one time.
Tests have shown that the Cibel-2K is over 90% effective when pitted against a medium tank at a range of 2,187yards (2000m).
